I have a First Class degree in Writing for the Media and which I completed after I achieved a distinction in my FdA Newspaper and Magazine Journalism. I have a passion for film that borders on the obsessive and have a particular fondness for films starring Audrey Hepburn and James Dean, cheesey rom-coms and high school flicks.

Six years ago I began writing for the magazine Movie Magic and went on to write reviews and features for Talking Pix. I set up my own blog, Final Cut, just over a year ago and since then I have begun contributing cinema reviews and the odd feature to The Digital Fix.

I wrote my dissertation on women directors and the Academy Awards and while carrying out my research I was asked to join the committee for the Penwith Film Society. I am hugely interested in the difficulties for female directors and independent filmmakers, having also completed an independent study module on Miramax and the evolution of independent cinema.

The highlight of my film journalism career so far has been interviewing the late producer Simon Channing Williams at a screening of Happy-Go-Lucky, the feature for which can be viewed here.

I am also currently working as an intern for filmdirecting4women and, having just attended their first film festival, I'm really excited about future projects.
